這個字是nepotism

學到這個字是在讀一篇關於慈善機構的醜聞. 這篇文章講到有些機構的CEO顧用自己的親人, 即使他們資格不符. 他們把錢花在慈善工作沒直接相關的費用. 這種把工作和好處給親人的行為就是nepotism.

這裹的親人很重要，因為把好處給朋友是另外一個字： cronyism.

原文如下:
(shame charities) operated as personal fiefdoms characterized by rampant nepotism, flagrant conflicts of interest, and excessive insider compensation.

這兩個字，在現在的政治圈中常發生，應該不難理解。

BTW, 發現VoiceTube有18個關於nepotism的YouTube影片. 其中一個影片是講川普指派女婿作為自己的資深顧問, 這就是nepotism.

skinny和scrawny的Google中文翻譯都是骨瘦如柴. 但有什麼不同?

先來看英文解釋.
skinny: very thin.
scrawny: unattractively thin and bony
二個字都是瘦, skinny比較中性, 沒有好看的或不好看, scrawny是沒有吸引力的瘦

另外一個有趣的字是brawny, 它和scrawny拼法很像. 意思是physically strong; muscular, 就是很man, 有肌力.
